During the promotion of Sonic Heroes[3] in 2004, LCD handheld games were given to children in their Happy Meals.

The Toys

The toys were simple games like volleyball, or hockey, but with Sonic characters. Each game consisted of one game viewable by a small LCD screen.

Search for the Silver Game

A promotion was set up I partnership with SEGA to celebrate both the 25th anniversary of the Sonic franchise, and kids gaming passion, McDonald's set up a search for a silver game[2] 25 of these silver games were sent out all across the country, and the winner would receive Sonic video games as the grand prize.[2]

For 15 years, it was longed believed that these toys were lost, but Youtuber LSuperSonicQ uploaded a video in which he describes this very mystery.[4] A few days later, he receives an e-mail detailing that a viewer in fact still has the silver game In the updated video, LSSQ has stated that the owner will "not sell to anybody due to having some emotional attachment to the toy.[1]
